Pool Deck Maintenance & Temporary Closure

The community pool will close from Monday, May 25 through Friday, June 5 for scheduled resurfacing of the pool deck and a full service of the filtration system. The work was approved at the March board meeting and timed for the two weeks before swim season peaks.

Crews will grind and reseal the entire deck surface, replace six cracked coping stones along the shallow end, and rebuild both sand filters. The deck must cure for 72 hours after sealing, so the closure dates are fixed and cannot be shortened — even if the work finishes early.

What this means for swimmers

• The pool, wading area, and restrooms close completely during the work window; the fence stays locked.
• Free lap-swim vouchers for the Harbor View Aquatic Center are available at the management office starting May 18.
• Swim lessons scheduled for the closure weeks move to June 8–19 at the same times; instructors will confirm by email.
• The reopening swim party is set for Saturday, June 6, at noon — lifeguards on duty, guests welcome.

Why now

The deck surface is original to the 2014 construction and has developed spalling near the drains. The reserve study flagged it for 2026 replacement, and completing it before summer avoids both higher mid-season pricing and a closure during the busiest swim weeks.
